Laptops are now a common thing. People use it in everyday life to connect to social networking sites and to make their projects and many other things. But the problem is will your laptop have that much power in it to stay up for a whole day. If you are one of those person who look for a charging spot when out, as your laptops battery is down then you have come to the right place.
In this post I am going to tell you guys some useful tips to increase the battery life of your Laptop.
Just follow the tips written below and increase the battery life of your laptop:
1. Choose Hibernation Over Stand By
For those who don't know what hibernation is"It is a power option like stand by but it does not take your system to a sleep. It saves the current state of your system and shuts down the whole system."
Know you know what it is then let me tell you why it is for preferable than stand by. Stand by uses power as it will take your system to a temporary sleep but when you open the lid your system take a lot of load and thus it uses more power. Whereas hibernation option will shut down your laptop completely. So obviously it saves you up to 15-20 minutes.
2. Try To Avoid Multi Tasking
We all like to do multitasking on our laptop. Like working on spreadsheet, listening to music and chatting with friends at the same time. But more processes means for CPU usage and more CPU usage means more battery loss. So my advice will be to avoid multitasking. It can save you up to 30 minutes.
3. Try Not To Use USB For A Long Time
If you like to use USB and you let your pen drive connected to your laptop for a long time. Then my words of advice to you will be that avoid doing so. Your USB also uses a lot of the memory. This creates load on the CPU . It result in more battery loss. So if you use USB,then use it as less as possible,it will save you up to 20-25 minutes.
4. Avoid Using DVD-Rom
Your DVD Rom takes a lot of battery life when you run a DVD on it. It makes your battery life half of what it is.As it continuously runs process resulting in low battery life. Try not to use DVD to watch movies on your laptop. But if you really want to see a movie on laptop via DVD. Use software such as DVD Fab. It will reduce the DVD processes and also will make you DVD Rom's life long. It will save at least 50-60 minutes.
5. Decrease The Brightness Of Your Laptop's Screen
We all love to see our laptop's screen in full brightness. But this love of yours is using more battery life than you may have imagined. So dim your screen a little bit and see the difference in the battery life yourself. It will give you about 20-30 minutes.
6. Close Unnecessary Back Ground Processes
For those who don't know "Back Ground processes are those processes which are running but you can't see them on the desktop. They are associated with softwares and your windows." So be careful with them. Close processes which are related to software which you have closed or you don't want to run. See the description to specify process. Don't close any Windows process by mistake. Otherwise you will end up shutting down your system or anything else. You can see back ground processes by simply going to the Task Manager by right clicking on the task bar. It can save you up to 30-35 minutes.
7. De-fragment Your Laptop Regularly
De fragment your system regularly. It will increase your hard disk's efficiency. Better hard disk efficiency will obviously increase you battery's performance. It can save you up to 15-20 minutes.
